Jane on Filmore

The Jane on Filmore is bustling in the morning hours with super fit parents grabbing on-the-go bites with their well-dressed babies, people having meetings over coffee and individuals working on their laptops at the coffee bar… and then there’s me in the corner booth (score!) clearly documenting my delightful morning experience for my blog. Completely separate from the food, this eatery has amazing lighting and the cutest table tops perfect for your flat lay Instagram shots. In case that’s also something you appreciate.

The Jane is a super chic spot that offers healthy breakfast and lunch options that range from egg sandwiches and toasts to salads and paninis. I was feeling like I wanted a savory and a sweet, so I opted for the avocado mash with cracked black pepper, a perfectly soft boiled egg, pickled shallot and jalapeño on a thick house sourdough and the popular dragonfruit smoothie bowl.

I’m a huge fan of the crunchy jalapeño addition to the avocado mash and the smoothie bowl was as delicious as it was vibrant. The smoothie bowl was filled with goodies including dragonfruit, pineapple, banana, ginger, coconut water, blueberries, raspberries, hemp seeds, flax seeds, cocoa nibs, goji and mulberries. Each bite was a surprise mix of yumminess. The crunchiness and chewiness made this bowl one of my favorite smoothie bowls to date.

Their bakery section is poppin’ with an indulgent selection flakey croissants, muffins, scones, cinnamon rolls, cookies and gluten-free options as well. And what type of trendy eatery would it be if it didn’t offer fresh juices? For those that like a refreshing zing, try out the spicy Hawaiian, which is a blend of pineapple, orange, ginger, lime and cayenne. The Jane also has smoothies, specialty drinks like the tasty turmeric tonic (I still have yet to come across a turmeric drink I like…), custom tea blends and lots of coffee options.
