Fantastic Fall Rum Cocktails To Welcome Sweater Season In Style

Cheers with a festive fall cocktail!

Think rum is only for tropical vacations, tiki bars and pirates? Think again! With a variety of flavors such as cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, allspice, and orange, rum and rum-based liqueurs are actually ideal spirits for creating fall cocktails that’ll have you warmed up through winter. I partnered with Chairman’s Reserve and Rhum Clement to highlight these spirits’ versatility, deliciously complex flavor and ease with which to create perfect libations for sweater season!

Pumpkin Zinger Punch

If you want fall in a glass, this is your cocktail! This sweet treat is refreshing thanks to the fresh ginger and carbonation of the ginger beer, while the cinnamon and a generous pour of Chairman’s Spiced Rum gives it its warming, festive qualities.

Complete with its flavors of clove, nutmeg, vanilla, allspice, lemon and orange peels, this spiced rum libation will have you buzzing in the best way all evening.

Not to mention it looks extra fancy with the easy sage leaf and cinnamon stick garnish.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ounce pumpkin butter (I used Trader Joe’s version)
  • 1 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 2 ounces Chairman’s Spiced Rum
  • 1/8 teaspoon grated fresh or ground ginger
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 ounces ginger beer

Garnish:

  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • Sage leaves
  • Dash of ground cinnamon

Directions:

Place all of the ingredients except the ginger beer in a cocktail shaker and shake. Strain ingredients over ice in a rocks glass. Top with ginger beer. Garnish your cocktail with a cinnamon stick, a couple of sage leaves and an extra dash of cinnamon.

This super simple cocktail brings together the sweet boldness of maple syrup with cinnamon and the refreshing tartness of cranberry.

The Chairman’s Reserve The Forgotten Casks extra-aged sipping rum adds the kick this libation needs, leaving you feeling warm and fuzzy inside.

Ingredients:

Cinnamon Maple Syrup

  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 cinnamon stick

In a small saucepan, simmer maple syrup, cinnamon, and cinnamon stick for 20 minutes on low heat, stirring throughout to combine the maple and cinnamon.

Spiced Maple Cranberry Smash

  • crushed ice for your glass
  • 1 to 2 ounces cinnamon maple syrup
  • 3 to 4 ounces cranberry juice
  • 1 to 2 ounces Chairman’s Reserve The Forgotten Casks
  • 1 to 2 ounces orange seltzer water
  • cinnamon sticks for garnish
  • sugared cranberries and orange slices for garnish

Shake the syrup, cranberry and rum in a shaker for 30 seconds or so. Pour it over crushed ice. Top the drink the seltzer and garnish with a cinnamon stick, sugared cranberries and an orange slice.

This delicious libation is perfect for getting your whole party lit! Tart citrus, sweet blackberry effervescence and colorful garnishes make this quick-to-whip-up punch a winner.

It packs an extra kick of luscious orange flavor and Caribbean spices thanks to the splash of Clement Rhum Créole Shrubb. With the main spirit being the Clément V.S.O.P. Rhum Agricole Vieux, this cocktail offers a dynamic flavor full of exotic spice, dried fruit, charred sugarcane and more.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chilled blood orange juice
  • 4 (12 ounce) chilled natural blackberry sodas
  • 1 cup Clément V.S.O.P. Rhum Agricole Vieux
  • 1/4 cup Clement Rhum Créole Shrubb
  • ¼ cup fresh lime juice
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries
  • 1 blood orange thinly sliced

Directions:

In a large pitcher filled with ice combine all of the ingredients. Stir gently to combine.

Add several blackberries and an orange slice to each glass and pour the punch into the glasses.
